Hume's Leaf Warbler (Phylloscopus humei)
Vagrant ***
This individual frequented the area
around Bridge near Portreath in the new year (2006) for a few weeks. It
appears to be too bright for a Hume's, but it was heard on at
least two occasions by experienced birders. I spoke to one
birder who knew of someone who had been to Kazakhstan,
where both inornatus and humei reside, and one of the local
experts there had told him that inornatus sometimes copied humei.
The jury is out on this one.
